Undergraduate Students
The Lema Laboratory is part of the Biological Sciences Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, which offers the following undergraduate degree programs:
B.S. in Biological Sciences
B.S. in Marine Sciences
Student participation in research can be a transformative training experience, and Cal Poly provides several opportunities to encourage and support undergraduate students engaging in hand-on, high quality science.
Undergraduate students enrolled at Cal Poly can participate in the lab’s research in several ways. Please examine the Cal Poly course catalog for the following course options that offer course credit for working in the lab:
BIO 462: Senior Project - Research (2 credits)
BIO 463: Honors Research (2 credits)
BIO 400: Special Problems for Advanced Undergraduates (1-2 credits)
BIO 200: Special Problems for Undergraduates (1-2 credits)
Undergraduate students interested in participating in research in the lab should either contact Dr. Lema by e-mail or see Dr. Lema during regularly scheduled office hours.
Graduate Students
The Biological Sciences Department offers a Masters of Science (M.S.) degree in Biological Sciences. Students interested in joining the Lema Lab for graduate school should look at Cal Poly's requirements for entry into graduate school found at the following webpage:
